We don’t just recondition engines, we also offer driveshaft manufacturing, balancing, both dynamic and static, crack detection, flywheel refacing, lightening, and balancing. We have cylindrical grinding capabilities which can be utilised for shafts or printing rollers.

We don't just rebuild heavy industrial engines. We do anything from automotive, commercial, classic, vintage, performance and marine. We have the machinery large enough to deal with most of the large engines around the country.
A move to Hornby in 2016, has seen us placed closer to our commercial clients, but we still maintain our clientele in the city and offer a pick-up drop-off service, along with a quick turn-around.

Kevin started at Mace Engine Reconditioners as an apprentice in 1980. He has stayed with the company for 38 years and had progressed to the role of manager. He has a vast knowledge of engine reconditioning, with an eye for detail and accuracy second to none. This has placed him in high regard within the industry, and now as co-owner of KC Engine Reconditioners he is ready to move the company into the future.
Chris started at Smith Regrinds Ltd in 1990, as an apprentice straight from school, and progressed to leading hand. In 2002 Mace Engineering purchased Smith Regrinds Ltd. He saw this as a great opportunity to advance his knowledge, and after a short stint as home dad returned to Mace Engine Reconditioners to operate the new Rottler F88 Engine Machining Centre. Some 10 years later, he left Mace to expand and share his machining knowledge of Caterpillar Engines. After this and around two years in the Hydro Electric Generation industry, he has returned to the engine reconditioning industry (formally Mace Engine Reconditioners) to co-own KC Engine Reconditioners LTD.
