Our History

In 1952, Mace Engine Reconditioners was one of the first established engine reconditioning shops in Canterbury.

It was set up to cater for the ever-increasing demand for engine repair work.

It was part of a larger group of complimentary diverse disciplines, within the Mace Group. These involved general engineering and design, the design, manufacture, and repair of defence components. Wheel and tyre manufacturing equipment. Gantry Crane design and manufacture. The custom-building assembly, distribution and testing of leading brand pumps.

In 2002, Mace Engine Reconditioners acquired Smith Regrinds Ltd, another long established and respected competitor in the engine reconditioning industry. This along with an ongoing investment in modern machinery, gave Mace Engine Reconditioning one of the most up to date workshops in the country.

Kevin and Chris are proud to now introduce you to KC Engine Reconditioners Ltd, they take great pride in the ability to adapt to suit a competitive market that is constantly changing. To move their company forward, and take on the future challenges, in the ever evolving market of the internal Combustion Engine.
